Increased precision and control
2.048 pressure levels and reduced activation force
Doubling the levels of pressure sensitivity from 1024 in Intuos3 to 2048 levels and the new Wacom Tip Sensor design provide unsurpassed pen control and sensitivity. Now with 2.048 levels of pressure-sensitivity on the pen tip and eraser, the Intuos4 allows you to even more finely control software tools like exposure, brush width, eraser size, and opacity by changing how hard you press the pen to the tablet surface.
Minimum activation pressure was reduced from 10g to less than 1g.
Precision Mode
New Precision Mode function enabled through an ExpressKey provides the user improved pixel-level control
Tool ID
Every input device has its unique ID – every user can customize his own Intuos4 tools and the Intuos4 tablet always knows which tool is used.
Tilt
All Intuos4 tablets and pens recognise tilt angles of up to 60° - important for realistic paintbrush simulation and the creative use of controllable tool tip width.
Display Toggle
The display toggle offers increased flexibility in multiple monitor environments and allows you to easily switch between screens.

Precision Mode
New “Precision Mode” functionality where the whole tablet suddenly

The Grip Pen provides high resolution results (5,080 lines per inch) for greater precision and faster response. With 2.048 levels of pressure, the ultra-high resolution of 5.080dpi and the reduced pressure activation force, the Intuos4 Grip Pen responds in the most sensitive & precise way to realize smooth blends and pressure sensitive masking effects.
The display toggle extends pen control to multiple monitors at once (makes it easy to switch between controlling a single display and controlling multiple displays).
